‘W228’ is a series of prints made in the letterpress workshop, exploring the use of spacing materials in metal typesetting as a foundational self-directed enquiry in traditional typesetting. Part one of the experimentation focuses on word and line spacing, and understanding the conventions and details of typesetting. Part 2 of the series moves on to a more experimentative approach to the printing process, exploring type as pattern.
