‘Original Machines‘ is an imaginary exhibition and conference series that explores the history and the current status of artificial intelligence’s (AI) ability to generate creative work. The concept of the visual identity is inspired by the tension in what we culturally define as ‘creative’ and investigates the boundaries between human and machine-made creativity. The series of interchangeable images used in the visual identity was generated during the machine learning process, representing the machine in its infancy while also symbolising the evolving role of AI in creative practice.
